6 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 23)
5. A Turn For The Better
Ken Shamrock was scheduled to face Josh Alexander of The North in singles action, fresh off some comments made by Ethan Page backstage earlier in the evening. Before 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' even made it to the ring though, he was ambushed by the longest-reigning World Tag Team Champions in Impact history, with Page and Alexander making an example out of the Hall of Famer. Josh even locked Shamrock in his own ankle lock to add insult to injury.
This was a turn that nobody saw coming. However, it could be exactly what Ethan and Josh need.
They've run through every team that's stepped up to the plate, from established tandems like The Rascalz to two singles guys just wanting a championship match like Rob Van Dam and Rhino. The Canadian pairing have knocked them all back like it was nothing. Ken Shamrock could be the challenge they need that could put their title reign in jeopardy. All he needs is a partner of his own, and he could potentially be challenging 'All Ego' and 'The Walking Weapon' at the Slammiversary pay-per-view.
We've seen stranger things happen in Impact. Anyone remember the Fish Market Street Fight?
