6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 2)

4. Roman Believing His Own Rap

Roman Reigns should take a bow for what he achieved between Clash Of Champions last Sunday and Friday's episode of SmackDown. His own promo about trying to represent his family the right way and helping Jey Uso by giving him a taste of what it's like to be in the WWE main event spotlight was fabulous stuff.

Heels who believe what they say are better than heels who don't. Wrestling fans in 2020 are smart enough to see through phoney speeches riddled with unbelievable statements that bad guys spouting them obviously don't believe either; Reigns doesn't have that problem here. He's on fire as a disrespected leader.

The hug he gave Jey at the end of their segment was the proverbial cherry on top of the cake too. By telling his cousin he "loves him", Reigns is setting him up for another ass-kicking at Hell In A Cell - not because he wants to, but because he has to.

Wonderful.
