6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's NXT (19 Feb)

2. Tag Teams, Finally

Grizzled Young Veterans, The Broserweights, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch, the Undisputed Era, even Mendoza and Wilde. Was it just me or did NXT feel like it might actually have the beginnings of an actual tag division this week?

Where previously the entire 2v2 match format felt like an afterthought on this show, the success of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the belts being wrestled away from the Undisputed Era means that the future looks promising for tag team wrestling. While O'Reilly and Fish have posted some of the best matches the straps have ever seen, they were far too sporadic and always just set dressing for the much-maligned "Prophecy".

Now though with a division finally emerging (at the cost of virtually anything for the women, it should be noted), we can look forward to far more frequent defenses of one of pro-wrestling's most esteemed championships. Oh, and they even let The Forgotten Sons have 20 seconds of airtime this week, saying that they took Gibson's "neckbeards" slur personally.

Or, to put that another way... effectively calling themselves neckbeards. Just sterling work there, boys.
