6 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Backstage (Jan 28)

2. To Be Frank...

Frank Caliendo
WWE

Sketch comic Frank Caliendo went so big and broad with his Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage impressions that he left himself too exhausted to get through his 7/10 Morgan Freeman voice as a way to welcome The New Day on to the show.

It was a good job Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods appeared when they did - the segment was rapidly careering off a cliff before they made the save, pancakes and all.

Some lousy Adam Sandler material followed as the gang plodded through what was easily the worst segment in the brief history of the sister show. A crowd that popped for everything gave him nothing until Booker T turned up and effectively turned him heel before giving him the hook.

Big swing, big miss.
