6 Ups & 4 Downs From NXT 401

1. Authors Of Pain Vs Heavy Machinery

This match for the tag team belts was between two teams with almost the same gimmick of enormous men who are impossible to knock down. The Authors of Pain in particular looked limited in their repertoire without opponents they could throw around at will, and even Nigel McGuinness on commentary had to acknowledge that Heavy Machinery were way too new a pairing to justify a title match.

The spectacle was impressive, especially with Otis Dozovic who resembles a small beige planet and whose hot tag was the centrepiece of the match, and neither team took time out for a rest. Where the match suffered severely was in comparison to NXT's two previous main events, the wrestling clinic that was Bobby Roode vs Roderick Strong and the heartstopping Last Woman Standing Match between Asuka and Nikki Cross.

This would have been a fine regular match to demonstrate the Authors of Pain's dominance and give Heavy Machinery a run-out, but as a main event it was lacking and demonstrated the paucity of creative juice in the Authors of Pain concept.
