6 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (May 31)

1. Main Event Delivers

The main event featured Johnny Impact and Michael Elgin taking on Willie Mack and X Division Champion Rich Swann, a match that looked great on paper and one that played out even better inside the squared circle.

It was quite a diverse contest – between the high-flying on offer from Swann, the sheer power from Elgin, the charisma from Mack, and the cockiness from Impact, it made for an excellent show-closing contest. Big Mike in particular was on top form here, lobbing people all around the ring. He was, however, the reason his team lost - in a way.

Swann shoved Impact into Elgin, causing the Unbreakable Canadian to walk out on his teammate. That allowed Rich to perform a 450 splash on Johnny to pick up a victory for he and Willie Mack. This whole match not only provided an amazing display of in-ring talent, but it provided some story development between Elgin and Impact.

Remember, the latter currently has an ‘X’ he won in an Ultimate X Match to cash in for a future championship match. Could he possibly interject himself into Elgin and Brian Cage’s business?
