6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2024

DOWNS…

4. Not The Best Return PLE

Naomi Elimination Chamber

Naomi spent more than 18 months away from WWE after walking out of the company in May 2022, returning at the Royal Rumble to a huge reaction. The former singles and tag champion had to be looking for a big showcase upon her return, but Saturday’s Elimination Chamber match was little more than an exhibition.

Naomi started the chamber match with Becky Lynch, and they spent the opening segment trading offense, rollups and counters. She got a bit of offense, but then she was unceremoniously pinned immediately after landing an avalanche sunset bomb off the pod, but Tiffany Stratton simply rolling her up. She was gone before the last two participants entered, scoring no eliminations and just one semi-notable “moment.”

That’s three matches since returning, with a nondescript appearance in the Rumble, a qualifying match win over Alba Fyre, and this showing. Throw in doing away with her signature entrance for a new glow-less theme that spells out her name and you’ve got to wonder what’s going on here with this booking.

You don’t spend the better part of two years away, becoming a world champion in another promotion, to return and become part of the furniture in one month. But hey, if she’s happy, that’s really all that matters. From a fan’s perspective, it’s confusing at best, disappointing at worst.
