6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT UK (18 March)
2. Spooky Stuff
Isla Dawn's latest mysterious promo saw her surrounded by some candles as she used what appeared to be an Ouija board. This did nothing for your writer.
Are we supposed to be taking Isla seriously now? The same Isla who's been nothing more than a filler for the women's division since her arrival in NXT UK? Sure, she challenged for the NXT UK Women's Championship against Rhea Ripley early on, but that was only because a) she was actually being booked alright up to that point, and b) they didn't have the likes of Kay Lee Ray or Meiko Satomura signed at that time. They needed someone to make 'The Nightmare' look strong. That's as good as it's gotten for Dawn.
WWE's storied history with spooky characters isn't great, to say the absolute bare minimum. They might start off on a good note, but the next thing you know, they're jobbing to 53-year-old Goldberg in Saudi Arabia. Your writer still isn't over that. Please, don't let Isla suffer the same fate.
