6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (14 August - Review)

1. All That, For THAT Finish?

Trish Stratus versus Becky Lynch is the zombie feud that just won’t die.

The ill-fated rivalry between a Hall-of-Famer and one of the best of this generation has underwhelmed at nearly every turn, right down to an expected SummerSlam match being bumped up to Raw, then punted two weeks to Monday night’s episode.

And then Monday’s match droned on for what seemed like forever, only to end in a double count-out and brawl in the concession area, setting up a third blowoff match between the two at an undisclosed time – inside a steel cage.

Why? Why continue this underperforming, atrocious feud? It was bad enough they did a 2-second match a couple of weeks ago, bypassed SummerSlam and then didn’t even give this a main-event slot (not that it actually deserved it), but to drag it out to another match is just madness. The dead crowd – in Trish’s home country – the blown spots and the dismal reception for the entire feud should have been enough to mercy kill it right here.

They’re not trying to make lemonade from lemons; they’re trying to get blood from a stone. And this stone was bled dry before WWE started to squeeze.
