3. This Guy Pushed Gunther To The Limit?

JD McDonagh The Miz

Six weeks ago, Miz battled Gunther in a generally well-received Intercontinental Championship match, putting the nearly indestructible champ on the defensive a few times and getting some near-falls that had some wondering.

Monday night, he was going 50/50 in a comedy match against JD McDonagh where the most popular person ringside was a confused R-Truth, who couldn’t decide if he was rooting for Judgment Day or his former Awesome Truth tag partner.

Yes, this is how the wrestling world goes sometimes – a wrestler is elevated for a title program as a challenger of the month, loses and then slides back down the card. But this has to be record time for someone to go from nearly knocking off an unbeatable IC champ to goofing around in something that barely qualifies as a wrestling match.

At least if you’re going to do this, at least make the match decent. It wasn’t even a coherent bout that could get a mulligan.
