Robert Roode was also the right man to take the fall for the heel squad.

WWE made the right choice by avoiding an unnecessary loss for The Miz or John Morrison before Thursday's Super ShowDown title challenge against New Day. Had one of those guys stared at the lights, this entry would've been an expletive-filled rant. As it is, it's a polite nod of respect towards the creative team for realising Roode's role.

There's no shame in playing the part of fall guy for Roode or Dolph Ziggler right now. They're 'King' Corbin's lackeys, and they've been around the pro wrestling horn long enough to have automatic respect from fans. It's not hard to turn them from losers to a credible force thanks to that longevity.

Miz's handshake before the match kicked off told this fan that Roode was losing, and that's fine. This eight-man tag was everything it needed to be.
