6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (21 Feb)

Thank God for the wrestling then.

When SmackDown focused less on throwaway promo segments, it was a fun watch. The second half of that Usos and New Day vs. John Morrison, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode match was particularly good, and it scratched that spot-fest itch.

There were some great near falls in there, and the live crowd were super-into what all eight of these men were selling. It was a real throwback to the days when tag-team wrestling mattered more to WWE than throwing two singles guys together and hoping for the best. It says a lot that all four of these tandems have been teaming for months, not weeks.

Maybe there's hope for the tag ranks yet.

There's nothing to complain about here. The opening six-seven minutes or so set the scene and the final four blew everyone away with a relentless merry-go-round of bumps, near falls and finishers.
