6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 18)

WWE produced the goods for SOME SmackDown stories before TLC.

SmackDown is superior to Raw on its worst day.

That might seem like a strong statement to some or obvious one to others, but it's true. WWE's blue brand has everything that the Monday night "flagship" lacks - it breezes by at two hours in length, focuses on the main stories with less meandering (again, likely due to the lack of that painful third hour) and is just an easier watch every week.

Friday's episode wasn't the best SmackDown has produced lately, and yet it still worked as effective 'go home' for Sunday's TLC pay-per-view. The Universal Title situation is kicking all kinds of ass, Carmella looks like a decent threat for Sasha Banks' Women's belt, and there's the potential for some fun Intercontinental shenanigans too.

WWE might not want to rush that. Big E vs. Sami Zayn for the latter's prize could be worth the wait.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows, obviously. One glance at the four 'Downs' in this week's title would tell you that. SmackDown's undercard, especially away from the actual championship feuds, could do with a little more care.

Here are all the 'Ups' and the 'Downs'...
