'The Nightmare Before TLC' could become WWE's reality this Sunday...
The Miz and John Morrison are ruining another World Title feud.
Their ill-placed comedy torched Braun Strowman's chances of being a serious Universal Champion over the summer, and they're at it again with AJ Styles in the WWE Title picture. Why the company think it's a good idea to mix poor "ha ha" with a dream bout like AJ vs. Drew McIntyre is anyone's guess.
McIntyre and Styles have a natural story to tell - both defied the odds to become WWE Champ in the first place, and both see themselves as alpha males who should be on top of Raw's ladder. Instead of playing on that, going all in on the threat AJ poses to Drew and selling the core TLC gimmick, WWE are booking John Morrison to dress up like Mel Gibson in Braveheart as a miffed Styles looks on.
There could be a nightmare scenario incoming at TLC. In fact, there could be a fair few. This has typically been a pay-per-view that shows up WWE's impatience pre-WrestleMania season, and that's why they might not be able to resist a few more swerves and shocks before 2020 closes.
