6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 18)

1. Ridge Holland Apologised?!

Right, it's obvious that Ridge Holland would've pulled Big E aside and said sorry for what happened last week. His overhead suplex shattered E's neck, and there's no way Ridge didn't feel bad about that. However, he plays an uncompromising thug who deliberately hurts people on television.

That didn't stop Michael Cole and Pat McAfee from explaining that Holland had remorse for E's injury right before WrestleMania. What?! Why the sh*te would they do that? What was happened to pro wrestling!? Fans don't need to know every little thing that happens backstage.

There's absolutely no need for commentators to try and take the heat off of Ridge. None. None at all. They did though - Cole was especially eager to smooth things over and say that Holland felt awful about what had transpired. Urgh. HE'S A TV CHARACTER!

Remember this the next time they book a heel beatdown from Holland, Sheamus and Butch.
