6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 18)
2. Making Up The Numbers
Speaking of "making up the numbers" - that's what the entire Women's Tag-Team Title division is doing right now. Yours truly will never be keen on the way WWE presents these duos. They just sorta unite for a month or two without any real context, then split when they fail to win the belts.
It's hard to give a hoot about any of this.
Rhea Ripley/Liv Morgan, Sasha Banks/Naomi and Shayna Baszler/Natalya have all been bundled together like action figure twin packs for the sake of it. Baszler and Nattie, in particular, are only a team because they've got nothing else going on and WWE wants to beef out the title scene at 'Mania.
One of the biggest issues with these tossed-together tandems is that they're expected to act like they've been pals all along. Natalya and Shayna were on opposite sides (Nattie with Tamina and Baszler with Nia Jax) at last year's show; stop insulting everyone's intelligence, WWE.
