6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 40 - Night 2 (Results & Review)

2. Rollins Gets Clowned

Did any significant player in WWE have a worse weekend than Seth Rollins?

First, the then-reigning World Heavyweight Champion teamed with Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes and got put down Saturday by a part-time wrestler in Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and a guy who hadn’t wrestled a real match in 11 years, The Rock.

Then on Sunday, he lost his World Title to Drew McIntyre to open the show and slinked off to the back tearfully, looking dejected. But Rollins would return with a completely new look, ditching his garish outfits in favor of a familiar tactical vest… and the night didn’t improve.

Rollins was one of the cast of thousands who ran in during the Bloodline Rules main event, attempting to help Cody in his battle against Roman. But unlike every other person who interjected, Seth was felled without landing a single blow, laid out upon making his surprise entrance.

It’s been pointed out that he had pledged to be Rhodes’ shield (get it?) in his quest to bring down the Bloodline, and Rollins ate a Reigns chairshot later, which proved to be a distraction to allow Cody to win the title. While it's true this was beneficial for Rhodes. Rollins got clowned this weekend and lost everything. His only positive was a pyrrhic victory in Roman losing because he was too busy beating up Seth. Hardly the kind of story to write home about.

Where this leaves Rollins remains to be seen, but he certainly seems cooked for right now.
