6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 40 - Night 2 (Results & Review)

3. A Meaningless Plunder Brawl

WWE WrestleMania XL Final Testament Pride Street Profits

On paper, the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley should be a huge act - a former World Champion and a dynamic tag team should be fire together - but the trio were saddled with a disappointing street fight match Sunday night against Karrion Cross and AOP.

Thankfully, the faces pulled out the win after a disjointed, disappointing plunder brawl that never really connected. At one point, Montez Ford dove onto Akam and Rezar on the floor, and the two disappeared from the remainder of the match – which was a good three or four minutes.

The Final Testament looked ineffective here, but the Profits and Lashley didn’t exactly have the kind of banner night everyone knows they’re capable of delivering.

The Philly tie-ins (which will be discussed later) with Bubba Ray Dudley were nice, but this was just dull. It also wasn’t helped in the stadium with an over-lighting issue that blinded fans to the point where they couldn’t look at the ring or the screens above it without squinting, rendering it impossible to even watch the match – though that might have been a net positive.
