6 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 23)

4. The Dark Order Vs Jurassic Express

Jurassic Express Dark Order

First, an Up within the Down - Tully Blanchard's post-match promo was excellent, as was his threat to beat the f*ck out of Marko Stunt given half a chance when his FTR go to war against Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. This perfectly opposed pairing will almost certainly deliver an excellent match and the final beat here was effective. Way more effective than the match that preceded it.

A humdrum six-man was not worked with the verve of a typical Dynamite television match, and allowed the mind to wander a little bit on just how prosperous 2020 has been for these acts after all. Dark Order's turnaround remains one of the great success stories of the year, but things have gone aggressively in the opposite direction for the babyfaces.

The contest felt heatless in the presence of a crowd finding noise for the things they cared about. More suited for Dark than Dynamite at this point, the boy and his dinosaur really need this FTR match. And, for that matter, the win.
