6 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (19 Jan)

1. Stop It, Karen

Deonna Purrazzo Jazz
Impact Wrestling

First off, a minor Down for Jordynne Grace and Jazz continuing to be a tandem, despite their elimination from the Knockouts Tag Team Championships Tournament semifinals and subsequent bout together at Genesis indicating the end of their association. The latter has shown she's not the best in the ring anymore, something that was again shown when the duo lost to Kimber Lee and...Susan.

For f*ck sake.

A second minor Down for Susan's in-ring attire being her casual pantsuit matched with the most colourful trainers you've ever seen. Aside from a few striking highlights (see Kimber Lee's spinning heel kick and Jordynne Grace's corner elbow smash), this was a mess. Jazz forgot she was the legal participant at one stage and Susan - despite legitimately being one of the greatest in-ring talents on Impact's books - acted as if she didn't know what professional wrestling even was, leaving Lee, Grace, and Deonna Purrazzo to carry the match. A belt shot to Jazz's head from Purrazzo marked the end.

This was dire. What's upsetting is that Deonna, Kimber, and Jordynne don't need to be held back by this. They're all some of the company's greatest assets, and yet, they're relied upon for these tedious story arcs. It's undoubtedly going to result in Susan reverting into Su Yung again, so let's just skip to the end.
