DOWNS…

5. ‘Big’ Is Not A Nickname

If you’re looking for something that has Vince McMahon’s stamp all over it, look no further than the recent “nicknames” that have cropped up on Raw.

Suddenly, Dominik Mysterio is “Dirty,” not just in passing references from the announcers, but on match graphics. And now, Bronson Reed is “Big.” No, really.

Come on. Just stop. It’s not 1975 and you can slap any stupid descriptor onto someone’s name and it’ll work as a nickname. Seth “Freakin’ ” Rollins barely works, and that’s by Rollins’ sheer will alone. But “Big”?

And just to make a finer point, is Reed really that big? He’s probably about the same size as Otis. Ivar, Sanga and even Top Dolla are close in size as well. Someone give Vince his applesauce and send him to the corner.
