6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (17 Mar - Results & Review)

Ups…

6. Commentator Upgrade

Even if it’s only for one week, fans (and their ears) had to rejoice at the news Monday night that Pat McAfee was not sitting in the second chair for Raw.

Instead, Corey Graves made the trip to Brussels for Raw, filling in admirably and doing a solid job as usual. After months of McAfee yelling, ranting, and going on tangents, Graves sounded downright subdued by comparison. He also worked in a couple of good little lines, arguing with Michael Cole at one point that it could be anyone under the American Made luchador mask, suggesting it could be Del Wilkes or Tom Brandi – a nice deep cut for fans.

Given the weightiness of John Cena and Cody Rhodes finally coming face-to-face Monday night, it probably was best to have Graves there rather than McAfee, who likely would have made some loud, unrelated-to-the-story comment. Call it a happy happenstance for the week.
