6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (3 June - Results & Review)

3. Enter The Dragon

Finn Bálor Dragon Lee
WWE

In some ways, the fact that Dragon Lee had his first televised match in more than month (and first singles bout in nearly three months) on Monday was criminal and worthy of a “down.”

Rather than focusing on the negative, there is the very real positive development that WWE finally gave Dragon Lee some TV time to showcase his talents, and they paired him up with Finn Balor. The two barely scratched the surface of what they could do in a match, but they provided enough of a glimpse to remind fans that Lee is a tremendous wrestler capable of doing things the vast majority of roster couldn’t pull off on their best day.

Lee getting bested due to the Judgment Day’s numbers was a bit frustrating, considering that Dragon is in a stable himself, but it was pretty much expected, and it gave the luchador an out to seek a rematch against Balor down the road.

As a match, this was pretty average, and if Dragon is having this type of bout a month or two from now, it might be met with criticism for keeping training wheels on the high-flier. But for a first appearance, Lee’s match and preceding video package gave a bit of hope that WWE won’t drag their feet with the Dragon.
