6 Ups & 6 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 16)

5. FTR's Ill-Timed Interruption

Cash Wheeler

FTR spitting fury at Jurassic Express being featured in a quick video package and mourning the death of the tag division may have worked better elsewhere on the show, but going down seconds before the main event, when Dynamite was already running short on time, wasn't it. Everything about the angle felt inconsequential as a result.

Jurassic Express are natural opponents for Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, and of course the hardnosed traditionalists take exception to the "grown man in a dinosaur costume" and his Baby Tarzan son. The two teams contrast each other nicely and it'll be a good match, with potential title ramifications as Jurassic chase FTR in the rankings.

Still, the positioning was weird, the execution was a little flat, and it all made for a weird shift into Joey Janela vs. Kenny Omega.
