On paper, Saturday’s Money in the Bank premium live event should be a really good show, the second-best PPV/PLE of the week.

But man, the build to this event has been uneven to say the least, especially on the Raw side. Cody Rhodes versus Dominik Mysterio has been great fun with Dom’s cowardly attacks while hiding behind Mami building each week. Finn Balor reaching back seven years for inspiration for his challenge to Seth Rollins is inspired to some, aggravating to others.

The Women’s Tag Team Championship match is just there. The men’s MITB match got upended with Logan Paul’s entry, leaving the other six participants feeling like bit players. And the women’s MITB match had a dismal go-home segment Monday night.

Raw also gave us a continuation of a Miz feud no one was clamouring for and saw an NXT champ show up and lose their debut match… because reasons. But Raw also featured Gunther and Sami Zayn going at it, and Cody and Damian Priest closing out the show strong.

So yeah, call it a mixed bag as we head into Money in the Bank for the build, but we should all expect to be entertained come Saturday. It’s just a shame that Raw doesn’t elevate its game above mediocre.

Let’s get to it…
