6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2020

5. Rollins Triumphs Over Dominik

It would have been a bit too much of a fairy tale for Dominik Mysterio to win his first WWE match against a four-time world champion in Seth Rollins, though getting revenge on the maniac that has tormented your family would have been oh-so-sweet.

Still, Dominik looked better in his match than he had any right looking, as he came close a couple times to toppling Rollins, before the Monday Night Messiah and his disciple Murphy took out both father and son, forcing a handcuffed Rey Mysterio to watch helplessly as Seth Stomped Dominik to defeat.

Rollins has been great at tormenting Rey in this role, wearing tights that resembled Mysterio’s Halloween Havoc 1997 gear, asking Rey if his son was actually Uncle Eddie’s (a nice callback to the ill-fated “custody of Dominik” storyline from 15 years ago), and taunting Mysterio, daring him to get involved in the match.

Hopefully this is building to Dominik rising up to the challenge, or Rey finally getting revenge for his family, because the storyline, which has had more than its share of ups and downs, has been going on for what seems like forever, and it needs to reach a conclusion sometime soon.
