6 Ups & 7 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 17)
5. Gama's Secret Weapon
After saving Fallah Bahh from an assault at the hands of The Desi Hit Squad, TJP made his return to in-ring competition against Daga. It was an odd choice for his first match back - not because it was going to be a bad match, but rather because he's not involved with the DHS. You would've expected his return match to be against either Rohit Raju or Raj Singh. However, Daga was an absolutely outstanding choice in hindsight.
The two X division stars left it all in the ring, with perhaps the craziest spot of the bout seeing Daga charge down the ramp, leap over the top rope for a sunset flip, and roll through into a double foot stomp. Crazy stuff. TJP would of course win the bout with a modified Regal Stretch variation of the TJP Clutch, but that's when Gama Singh's goons attacked.
He may not have appeared the last time the group attacked Fallah Bahh, but this time, Mahabali Shera would be brought out by Gama as his secret weapon. Without a doubt, Shera was the absolute worst thing about Impact when he was around the first time, with his weird finger dance. His run in James Storm's old group The Revolution was decent enough, but nothing compares to his current tenure.
Just look at how Daga was able to help fend off Rohit and Raj, then get laid out in a single chokeslam. If he's built properly and The Desi Hit Squad are able to become a more prominent part of the Impact product, then Shera could very easily be a World Championship challenger.
