Even if you’re someone who isn’t a huge fan of celebrities getting the better of trained wrestlers, you’ve got to give it up to someone like Bad Bunny, who has thrown himself into the role with gusto.

Bunny already was hosting Backlash because it’s taking place in his native Puerto Rico, but he stepped that up Monday night after coming down to ringside with kendo stick in hand to neutralize Damian Priest. The Punisher of the Judgment Day had just drawn a DQ by throwing a steel chair at Rey Mysterio, and Bunny made a beeline to the ring, immediately waffling Damian with multiple shots.

Afterward, Bad Bunny jumped on the mic to declare he was no longer hosting Backlash, but going as a competitor, challenging Priest to a street fight between the two Puerto Ricans.

We’ve seen plenty of flashes to know that Bunny respects the industry and enjoys being part of the show, and WWE excels at protecting celebrities in these kinds of matches, so you can almost expect a really entertaining garbage match between Priest and Bunny here. The feud is believable, and the crowd noise will be deafening for this one. It was a pretty easy decision to book this match, and it’s reasonable to have faith that it’ll deliver.
