6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (May 9)

3. Team Too Sweet

Can we give a little love to the newly formed duo of AJ Styles and Finn Balor? For once, babyfaces who are being ganged up on have figured out that there’s strength in numbers.

We’ve seen the past couple weeks that Balor has come out to aide Styles in his battles with Judgement Day, so it was fitting Monday night that AJ returned the favor and accompanied Finn to the ring for his match with Damian Priest (their fourth singles match in 10 weeks), which ended in a DQ schmozz when Edge speared Balor.

Although the two were laid out by Judgement Day (with Rhea Ripley being the difference-maker), Balor and Styles as a team could work well. And if Edge is going to continue to add to his stable, then it’s possible the Too Sweet brothers could add someone to their fold to maintain parity.

Could it be that WWE is slowly realizing what AEW has utilized to great success, establishing factions to create numerous iterations of matches and build longer storylines? We can dare to dream, but it’s possible.
