6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (May 9)

4. THE Judgement Day

Why does WWE insist on making things worse by tinkering with them?

We could easily argue whether “Judgement Day” was a good name for a stable, but “The Judgement Day” is easily worse. Yet, that’s what everyone referred to Edge’s group as repeatedly, seemingly trying to tattoo the slight name change into fans’ minds. It’s a tweak that doesn’t really make sense, much like the Cody Rhodes/Damian Sandow tandem that was called Team Rhodes Scholars, because you needed to clarify that the tag team was indeed a team.

While we’re at it, Edge gave us yet another nonsensical goofy phrase, calling Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest his “saints of fate.” Yep, of all the nicknames given to wrestlers, that certainly is one.

Still, overall, Ripley joining Judgement Day – sorry, THE Judgement Day – is a definite upgrade, both for her and for the group.
