6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 42 - Saturday (Results & Review)
An uneven night that produced genuine great moments and some lackluster ones.

Night one of WrestleMania 42 is in the books, and after all the chatter about flagging attendance, poor builds, and disappointing storylines, WWE delivered a mostly inoffensive event that had some genuinely great, warm moments.
The wrestling itself wasn’t as good as it could or should have been, but there weren’t any really bad matches. Most of the criticism actually centered on the main event, the short matches themselves, and a reliance on outside interference.
Unsurprisingly, Match of the Night honors fell to the match with the shortest and simplest build, Seth Rollins versus Gunther. The main event delivered an overbooked mess, with Pat McAfee, Jelly Roll, and a referee bump clouding up the finishing sequence.
This was the kind of PLE where it was fine on the night, but it’s not going to go down as a great night, nor is it going to age well and be something that fans go back and rewatch regularly. That perhaps is the biggest telltale sign that this was a bang average WrestleMania.
Let’s get to it…
