2. Blackheart And LeRae's Lacklustre Grudge Match

For the longest time, NXT's resident tank rider has found herself entangled with 'The Poison Pixie'. Things took a personal turn when Candice LeRae decided to destroy Shotzi Blackheart's tank a couple of months back and the two came to blows yet again during an impromptu match on last week's New Year's Evil card.

So, the pair would finally look to settle things once and for all in the opening bout of this week's show. As expected, Blackheart wasted little time when it came to punishing her bitter adversary. Yet, after the green-haired badass had dealt out some of her typically unique offence, including a rolling armbar on the mat, an Indi Hartwell intervention gave LeRae a 'Way' back into the match.

This moment was a sign of things to come as Hartwell's presence would eventually give LeRae an opening in the closing stages of the match. In the end, a vulnerable Blackheart found herself crashing to the ground from up high via swinging neckbreaker from the top rope for the LeRae victory.

In truth, it feels like this duo have been warring for a touch too long, and having Blackheart lose on the back of another shenanigan finish just didn't do much for anyone involved. We've already seen these women collide in physical singles and gruelling WarGames bouts, this felt like a bit of a backwards step and one that the two stars should probably move on from.
