6. The Bruiserweight Comes At The Prince

Last week's New Year's Evil event ended with an intense war fought between NXT Champion Finn Balor and The Undisputed Era's Kyle O'Reilly. 'The Prince' may have been able to settle his score with the star responsible for breaking his jaw at TakeOver 31, but the champ wasn't happy to rest on his laurels this week.

Occupying the ring, Balor set the stage for the next NXT star brave enough to come at the man cut from a now discontinued cloth. Not missing a beat, Pete Dunne, flanked by NXT Tag Team Champions Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, arrived on the scene and put the Irishman on notice. According to Dunne, the only reason he holds both the black and gold brand's belt and the title of Poster Boy for European Wrestling, is because 'The Bruiserweight' hasn't taken them yet.

The four men then quickly became physical, with Balor fending off the tag champs before Dunne isolated the already injured left arm of the NXT Champion. This mugging looked set to continue before O'Reilly popped up to make the save alongside his Undisputed brothers.

Judging from Balor and O'Reilly's staredown post-brawl, this story could be far from over. Insert Dunne into proceedings and we could be set for yet another Match of the Year contender involving a rejuvenated first-ever Universal Champion.
