When Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch came out for the opening bout, they didn’t exactly receive a rousing ovation. Fans already were chanting, “Undisputed!” for the NXT tag champs, and they weren’t inclined to change allegiances.

But during the course of the match, the boos – yes, fans actually booed Lorcan and Burch early on – turned to sheer appreciation, as the crowd reacted to everything in the hard-hitting match, even buying into some of the near-falls, despite the challengers being just a step above jobbers prior to this bout.

Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly retained their tag titles, but Lorcan and Burch earned a fair amount of respect from an energetic crowd, garnering loud applause after the match.

Hopefully, this won’t be the duo’s only brush with a spotlight. They might not be a top-caliber team, but Lorcan and Burch showed that they’ve got the chops.
