6 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

1. Worst Way Possible

It isn’t that WWE wants Roman Reigns to be their big superhero – it’s how they go about it. And Sunday’s victory in the Elimination Chamber was about the worst method they could have chosen.

Braun Strowman mowed down everyone in the chamber match, eliminating five men single-handedly, only for Roman to single-handedly take him out after everyone else collectively had failed.

In the WWE brass’ mind, that makes Reigns look like the only guy who could possibly stack up to Brock Lesnar, overcoming a superhuman in Braun. But in reality, Strowman tore through everyone and shrugged off rapid-fire finishers, only to fall to three Superman Punches and two spears as Roman heads on his way to his fourth straight WrestleMania main event coronation.

What the hell.

One of the biggest gripes with Roman is how he’s booked. They could have done this so much better. Maybe Braun eliminates three men and Reigns pins two, making them the two Alphas. Or three men dogpile Strowman after he pins two and eliminates him, then Roman defeats the last two men.

But having Roman survive while Braun does the heavy lifting – and fans chant for him – was the worst way possible.
