6 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (March 6)

2. Just Get To The Match

On paper, a superteam of Lita, Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch against Damage CTRL at WrestleMania should get fans all kinds of fired up.

But in reality, the build hasn’t been all that great, and Monday’s segment felt tacked together quickly, with people getting cut off and not much getting time to breathe, save for Trish basically announcing she was coming out of retirement. There wasn’t even time allowed for Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky’s frustration at Bayley for agreeing to the match to register.

Knowing that we’ve still got three more episodes of Raw before WrestleMania also makes you wonder how they’re going to keep this feud interesting. Odds are that they won’t, and this rivalry will sag and cool off.

It’s also worth noting that this means the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship won’t be defended at Mania (unless they get the belts off Lynch and Lita beforehand), leaving questions about Ronda Rousey for the big show. It basically means we got a feel-good moment last week so Lita and Becky could wear big, gaudy jewellery to the ring in SoFi Stadium.
