6 Ups And 6 Downs For WWE Day 1

Kudos have to go to Liv Morgan for turning in what has to be her best match in her young career.

Morgan challenged Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Day 1, and like their Raw match a few weeks back, Liv confused and stymied the champion. But this time, Morgan really brought a competitive spirit to the match, countering a lot of Becky’s offense and unleashing new moves we hadn’t seen before, including a sunset powerbomb and an armbreaker DDT.

Liv came really close several times, applying the Rings of Saturn toward the end that had fans buying, but Lynch countered an attempted Oblivion with a Manhandle Slam for the win. And really, she’s the best on the roster, so its not inconceivable that she would come out on top.

You also have to seriously credit Becky for keeping that match on track, and for playing the role of a paranoid, troubled champ who was becoming increasingly disturbed by her opponent having an answer for everything she did. It told a nice little story.
