6 Ups And 6 Downs For WWE Day 1

We should give credit to Cesaro, Ricochet and especially Sheamus for soldiering on after Ridge Holland had his nose busted when an attempted standing 450 splash by Ricochet went awry.
However, we also need to deduct points for WWE not changing the booking of the match as a result of Holland being taken out just seconds into the bout. Sheamus essentially wrestled a handicap match and won, taking out Ricochet on the floor with White Noise and then dropping Cesaro with a Brogue Kick.
It’s pretty clear that the pairing of Sheamus and Holland are supposed to be getting a push, but why wouldn’t you suddenly switch the booking to allow the faces to pick up the win with the advantage? Instead, the heel (who has been relying on outside interference from his partner) suddenly becomes a conquering hero.
It really was simple: Have Cesaro and Ricochet win, then let Sheamus whine about how unfair it was, and then when Ridge is cleared, beat the duo in a rematch. It really didn’t make much sense to have Sheamus cleanly beat his opponents like that.
