Gauntlet matches can be a great way to put over a couple superstars at once. Having someone topple two, three or even four opponents before finally falling to another wrestler is a great way to give someone a rub without necessarily moving them into a title bout.

But when you’re doing that within a small universe of wrestlers, it can also have a negative impact. Raw’s women’s division is only about eight women deep right now, and Nia Jax plowed through four of them on Monday (the other three were champ Alexa Bliss, eventual winner Sasha Banks and Alicia Fox, who wasn’t in the match). Jax basically made three of them look like little more than jobbers, and she even took Bayley down without too much trouble.

It’s not a total burial, but it definitely shovelled a little dirt on the division. On the other hand, it helped make Nia look like a serious threat, and put Sasha over as well, so there’s another side to this coin. Still, half the division looked impotent.
