The Miz and Dean Ambrose have a weird chemistry where they seemingly can fly through a match at warp speed, but it’s solely up to fans whether it’s considered any good. They’ve had matches with little to no heat, and then they’ve had ones like they did Monday night.

Ambrose and Miz battled for Dean’s Intercontinental Championship on Raw, with the two repeatedly attempting finishing moves and having a high-octane match that drew dueling chants from fans. At one point, Ambrose went for his Lunatic Lariat, only for Miz to counter into the Skull-Crushing Finale for a long 2 count. Then, when Miz pulled Maryse in front of him outside the ring, Ambrose gave her fair warning and then leapt anyway, forcing her to flee her husband.

The match was reaching a peak when Maryse distracted the ref, allowing Miz to attempt a low blow. However, Ambrose caught the try and delivered a low kick of his own, earning a DQ from the referee. It was a cheap ending, but it also made sense given the context.

The ending likely set up a rematch for Extreme Rules, which is probably the right call. But after that, can we see them separate for a bit? After feuding on SmackDown, they could use some space.
