6. Wrong Woman Standing

How do you evaluate Monday’s Last Woman Standing match between Natalya and Lacey Evans?

The match itself was plodding (but not bad), with Lacey controlling much of the bout. She did the annoying bit where she’d hit Nattie once milk and 8-9 count, hit her again and let the ref count again. It slowed everything down to a crawl, despite some nice shots and good heel mannerisms from Evans.

Then there’s the matter of who won the match. Despite controlling 90% of the match, Lacey had a suplex reversed on her and got powerbombed off the stage and through a table, and that was enough for Natalya to win the decisive(?) fifth match between the two. Does that mean that Nattie has won the feud?

If so, then that’s a mistake. Why is Nattie winning a feud against an up-and-comer at this stage in her career? For better or worse, Evans was challenging for the Raw Women’s Championship just a few months ago, and now she’s losing a rivalry few care about.

It just doesn’t seem to make any sense, as if they’re booking week to week without a long-term game plan. But who knows here? Maybe the goal is… eh, someone help us out here.
