6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 24)

1. Continuity To The Hilt

It’s somewhat rare in the world of professional wrestling for continuity to factor strongly into storylines. Oftentimes, angles or details are forgotten as soon as the next one begins. Otherwise, you’d have guys bringing up years of history with each other rather than moving on to the next angle.

So when Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose briefly went down Memory Lane Monday night, it was a fun and rare trip. Ambrose recalled that he and Y2J had been to war together and against each other. He mentioned how Jericho bashed him with a potted plant (Mitch!) and then referenced how he tore up Lionheart’s light-up jacket.

Not missing a beat, Jericho replied that Ambrose still owed him $15,000 for that jacket – an amount he repeatedly referenced during their feud last year. Ambrose, to his credit, quipped that he didn’t have that kind of cash on him because it had been a bad week at the blackjack tables. He did however present Jericho with a new light-up jacket, so maybe all is well.

Either way, the continuity and callbacks made this an easy thumbs-up.
