6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 29)
6. Angle/Guerrero It Ain’t
WWE gives us some weird segments every week, with some questionable writing. That’s to be expected these days.
So when an entire match between Alexa Bliss and Naomi was predicated on Bliss not having the right shoes, you knew you were getting a silly theme to the entire bout. Sure enough, Alexa struggled with her footwear, constantly retying her shoes throughout the match, and then losing them as Naomi attempted to drag her into position.
But rather than Naomi being distracted (ala Eddie Guerrero/Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 20), Bliss became preoccupied by her shoes and walked into a Rear View and split-legged moonsault to lose the uneventful match.
It was good to see Bliss back in action on Raw, but it was ridiculous that a five-time women’s champion was so distracted by her own shoes that she couldn’t competently wrestle a five-minute match (in storyline, of course).
