6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 31st)
5. Naturally Selective
Say what you will about the Divas Revolution sputtering, but WWE has to act like its still a big deal, right? Much like the fans turned on Roman Reigns earlier this year and he still was pushed hard up to WrestleMania, WWE still has to pony up for the women (and hope that the creative team stops tripping over itself). But it doesnt help the announcers are so busy talking about the WWEs Snapchat account (no, seriously) that they forget to call a wrestlers finishing move. Thats exactly what happened to Charlotte during her Beat the Clock match against Brie Bella. After Brie spent most of the match running away, Charlotte nailed her with Natural Selection her other finishing move besides the Figure Eight but Michael Cole was too busy discussing Snapchat. He barely reacted and seemed more surprised that Charlotte won, as if she got a pin off a clothesline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbxGMsFk9ow Most likely, Cole had Vince McMahon or someone in his ear telling him to talk about social media more, but missing a finishing move and all but ignoring its impact just further demeans the product in the ring. Would UFC announcers be occupied talking about Twitter and miss calling Ronda Rouseys armbar?
