6 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Elimination Chamber 2019

1. Kofi’s Time To Shine

Yes, he came up short in the Elimination Chamber, but Sunday’s PPV main event was all about Kofi Kingston.

The 11-year WWE veteran battled to the end of the chamber match, squaring off against Daniel Bryan in a drawn-out one-on-one segment at the end of the bout. Kingston came close on numerous occasions to defeating Bryan for his first WWE Championship, but he ultimately fell to a D-Bry knee.

It certainly was frustrating to see the entire arena rallying behind Kofi and trying to will him to victory, only for Bryan to pull off the clean win. But at the same time, Daniel has been on fire as the eco-friendly champion, so you could easily argue against changing horses, crowd be damned.

However, WWE would be wise to listen to their fans for a change (crazy concept, we know) and see if there’s actual energy behind Kingston. After all, we were promised “fresh matchups,” so another AJ Styles/Daniel Bryan confrontation or John Cena world title match at WrestleMania wouldn’t quite meet that test, right?
