6 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (June 15)

1. Christian Ultimately Is A Chump

Remember that gut feeling in the opening segment? Yeah, so about that…

Christian got owned Monday night, as he had his first match in six years in WWE. That “match” consisted of Ric Flair trying to talk him out of wrestling and then hitting a low blow, allowing Randy Orton to punt Christian for the pinfall.

And that was it. Orton spent more time afterward lamenting kicking Christian’s head than he did competing against Captain Charisma. So the show-long buildup to Christian’s return bout was paid off in about 30 seconds with a single move that led to the legend being laid out for a solid 2-3 minutes unconscious while EMTs immobilized his neck.

Keep in mind that Edge – the primary connection between the two men and the reason for Christian getting back into the ring – is now out of action for several months with a torn triceps. Yeah, if this was the big surprise being touted for Raw, this was a hell of a letdown.
