6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 28)
3. Monday Night Rollins Rolls On
Seth Rollins deserves a permanent spot on the “ups” list right now.
Everything Rollins touches turns to gold (or at least some other precious metal). The Intercontinental Champion has carried the likes of Mojo Rawley and now Jinder Mahal to decent matches and had the best bouts on Raw most weeks. Fans have rallied behind him in a way that few have seen.
Monday, you could see the crowd trying to pump up Rollins as he recovered from a Jinder beatdown, and Seth knowing well enough to kip-up at the right time, much in the way Shawn Michaels used to leap to his feet. He put together a pretty decent match, chased off the bad guys and was standing tall as the segment drew to a close.
And then Elias laid him out, creating even more sympathy for Rollins. It’s the kind of organic ascent WWE wishes it could create for Roman Reigns or any other chosen superstar. It’s actually really fun to watch it all unfold.
