Regardless of what you think of Bobby Lashley’s current run, it’s pretty clear that any momentum Dean Ambrose had after his heel turn had completely dissipated. So changing course Monday night made sense.

Lashley won the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career on Raw, pinning Ambrose in a triple threat that also included Seth Rollins. Lashley is the type of guy who could benefit from holding the IC title, as it could give he and hype man Lio Rush – who paid dividends during the title match – more of a purpose and backing to their bluster.

While time will determine whether this title change mattered, we’ll be optimistic about it right now and give is a plus.
