6 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 28th)

6. Battle Royal Scrum

WWE sure loves its in-ring scrums to €œsell€ a battle royal or the Royal Rumble. Every time there€™s a big over-the-top-rope match around the corner, you can count on a segment where the participants all rush the ring and brawl before being thrown over the top.

In this case, we saw the Social Outcasts match against Big Show and Kane break down seconds into the bout, prompting Darren Young, the Ascension, Goldust, R-Truth, Fandango, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry, Damien Sandow and Tyler Breeze to hit the ring for a minute-long fight that ended with a quadruple chokeslam. Way to put over those youngsters Big Show and Kane!

Aside from Show, has anyone actually said what meaning the trophy would mean to him? (Aside from the Outcasts€™ mindless drivel.) Sandow could have talked about how nearly winning last year led to a downward spiral and he wants to right the ship. Henry could be looking to cap a 20-year career. Breeze could want a gorgeous trophy for himself.

Anything would have given more meaning to the battle royal than the scrum we got. But WWE loves its melees.
