6 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Greatest Royal Rumble

Ups...

6. Cedric Rebounds

At WrestleMania 34, Cedric Alexander finally won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Mustafa Ali during the kickoff show. The match, which should have let it all hang out, was largely a disappointment as the two seemed timid and reserved.

Alexander got a bit of redemption Friday at Greatest Royal Rumble, beating Kalisto in a title match that saw both men flying around the ring, countering each other and basically putting together a more “traditional” cruiserweight match. Kalisto hit a seated springboard Spanish Fly at one point, and Cedric countered a Salida del Sol attempt with the Lumbar Check to retain his title.

Hopefully this is a sign of better things for Alexander, who came into WWE with a ringing endorsement from Triple H at the Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016.
